Lindsey Eck was educated at the College of William and Mary, the University of Exeter, and Harvard University. He considers himself a serious amateur composer with professional aspirations. Veteran of several rock bands and an accomplished songwriter, Lindsey has more recently been branching out into larger-scale composing and arranging. He is also a skilled music engraver. In 1999 he scored a short film, _The Story of an Hour_, set in the 1890s, with original compositions based on research into the Southern music of the period. Late 2002 saw the completion in full score of his C Minor Mass dedicated to the singers and musicians of Austin, arranged for SATB/guitar/keys/bass, which is currently in production as a CD and which he is seeking to premiere in live performance. He has created a personal record label, Blue Oak Records, and a sophisticated home studio. His principal instrument is guitar, but he can also fake it on bass, mandolin, clarinet, and soprano sax; he is learning Celtic harp and can program synths (digital, analog, or guitar). He also works as a writer, editor, and Webmaster. He resides in rural Texas near Austin.
