Genshi was premiered June 25, 2011 as part of Sonic Generator's "SONICpalooza" new music marathon in the Galleria in front of Sympony Hall, Woodruff Arts Center, Atlanta Georgoa, performed by violinist Helen Hwaya Kim and clarinetist Ted Gurch.

Of the premiere, ArtsATL music critic Pierre Ruhe wrote: ""The music is infused with a melancholy Eastern European spirit, almost a Jewish lament, with echoes of Stravinsky’s neo-classicism.
