César Avilés is a violinist/composer born in 1985. He is currently enrolled in a double major in violin performance and composition at the Conservatory of Puerto Rico.His professional debut as a composer occurred when he was invited to play one of his pieces (Caprice no.1 for violin solo) in a special commercial for the Eastern Music Festival on Fox News. He was the concertmaster of that orchestra in the 2007 season. That year the Eastern Music Festival chamber group performed one of his most acclaimed pieces (“Viejos Tiempos”, for string orchestra) also performed by the Bayamon Symphony in their concert Season in Puerto Rico. As a violinist he is a current member of the BSO and has served with the Puerto Rico Symphony and Philharmonic Orchestras. He has been in several workshops and festivals around the world and has taken master classes with todays most prolific figures in music.
