Huck Hodge is a New York-based composer. He has received commissions from numerous organizations and ensembles such as the American Composers Forum, the Jerome Foundation, the Manhattan Sinfonietta, Musik der Jahrhunderte as part of the ISCM World New Music Festival and from the Stony Brook Contemporary Chamber Players as part of the 19th Annual World Premieres Series. His music has been performed in Germany, South Africa, Canada, the United States, and Italy at numerous festivals such as the Maerzmusik (Berlin) and ISCM Global Interplay festivals, and he was a finalist in the 2007 Carlsbad Music Festival's Composition Competition. He recently collaborated with members of Ensemble Modern, the Berliner Philharmoniker and composer Thomas Adès to present a concert of experimental improvisation at Carnegie Hall, where he directed one of three groups of improvisers. He has received numerous other commissions and performances from ensembles such as the New York Miniaturist Ensemble, the Afiara String Quartet, Second Instrumental Unit, the NYU New Music and Dance Ensemble, Ensemble Adapter, TimeTable Percussion Trio, Counter)induction and the Manhattan Sinfonietta. His work has received funding through organizations such as the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, the Ernst von Siemens Musikstiftung, the Fritz Reiner Center for Contemporary Music, the government (Landesstiftung) of Baden-Württemburg, the Alice M. Ditson Fund of Columbia University and the Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst.
