Has composed concert music, as well as music for theatre, dance, and documentary films. Major orchestras including the St. Louis Symphony, Milwaukee Symphony, Syracuse Symphony, and Rochester Philharmonic have performed her symphonic works. "A
Celebration of Spirituals" was recently performed at the National Museum of Women in the Arts. Her musical theater works have been presented at the American Music Festival and Lincoln Center, among others. She has received numerous commissions and awards including the North Carolina Composer's Fellowship, National Music Theater Network,
Raleigh Medal of Arts, ASCAP and is in Marquis’ Who’s Who and Who’s Who in American Women.
As a pianist, she is presently the Artistic Director of the “Music of the Americas” concert series presented by the Raleigh Symphony Orchestra Chamber Ensemble. Through her studies with Ozan Marsh, whose principal teachers were Egon Petri, Emil Sauer and Robert Casadesus, her musical heritage traces back to such keyboard giants as Busoni and
Franz Liszt.
As a teacher, she continues to share her love of music with students of all ages and levels
of ability.
