BIOGRAPHY
Paul Seitz is a composer of opera, and music for instrumental and vocal
ensembles large and small. His music has been performed throughout the
United States, Europe, Australia and New Zealand, and can be heard on
recordings by the UNLV Wind Orchestra, bass clarinetist Henri Bok, and two CDs to be released in late 2010: Within Your Private Sky, by marimbist Alex
Stopa, and Dialogues, by The Irrelevants.
Seitz completed a D.M.A. in Composition and a M.M. degree in Music Theory from the University of Wisconsin, and a M.A. from Columbia University. His primary composition teachers were Stephen Dembski and Fred Lerdahl. He has taught music theory and composition at the University of Texas at Tyler and UNLV, and music theory at the University of Wisconsin, as well as in his current appointment at the University of Missouri.
