Christopher Ariza is a composer and programmer of sonic structures and systems. He has studied at Harvard University (AB), New York University (MA, PhD), and, under a Fulbright grant, at the Institute of Sonology. He has composed for digital media, theatre, film, concert-hall, and interactive media, and performs live electronics with diverse ensembles. He has been the recipient of fellowships, awards, and commissions, and his compositions have been performed at numerous festivals and conferences around the world. Recordings of his compositions and performances have been distributed by SEAMUS and Quiet Design Records. His research in generative music systems and computer-aided algorithmic composition is made available through the open-source, cross-platform software athenaCL. His web-based media and systems include the babelcast, telequalia, Post-Ut, algorithmic.net, and envl.net. His music, software, and research are distributed via www.flexatone.net.
