Short biography
Pianists Sonja Loncar and Andrija Pavlovic founded LP Duo in 2004. Since then it has become one of the most successful European chamber ensembles. Both musicians completed their undergraduate and postgraduate studies (specialized in piano duo) at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade. They further studied at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Rostock (Germany), completing postgraduate and PhD studies in chamber music and piano duo with honor, in the classes of Hans-Peter and Volker Stenzl. As solo musicians and piano duo members they won so far over 30 awards at international music competitions. They were announced as one of the 10 top piano duos on the Globe at the biggest “Miami Dranoff Two piano competition” in Miami, Florida. On that occasion, they gave five recitals at Miami University’s Clarke Recital Hall.
LP Duo has performed all around Europe and in USA. They had collaborated with the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, RTS Symphony Orchestra, Belgrade Strings and Chamber Orchestra, etc. LP Duo gave world premieres of more than 30 contemporary pieces. Many composers dedicated their music to LP Duo. They released three CD’s and recorded for Radio and Television in many countries.
