Toccata, for mallet quintet

About this work:
Commissioned by the Conservatory Percussion Ensemble at Brooklyn College (CUNY), TOCCATA (1986) was influenced by the composer's work at the time with MIDI synthesizers and digital delay units. Toccata is dedicated to Morris "Arnie" Lang who conducted the premiere at Levinson Theater on May 18, 1986.
The original version was scored for sextet and a larger number of instruments including 8 mallet instruments, timpani, tubular bells and drum set. This revised version (2010) is for a percussion quintet of mallet instruments. Minimum Requirement: one vibraphone; two 5-octave marimbas; and two glockenspiels. Published by Kirkside Music (ASCAP).
