Pecking Orders

Jay Vosk

About this work:
This work is comprised of three rotating motives for three piccolos. I might describe it as a controled handful of chirps. At first this motives are rather gentle and playful. As the work progresses the 'chirps' become more and more animated. The work was premiered at a composer conference and Arizona State University in 1997 and most recently performed at the University of Nebraska in 2006. A sound sample of the work may be found at my website:JayVosk.com
