About this work:
Commissioned by One World Symphony, "In Their Flight" sets a poem by NYC based poet Mark Doty. It was composed for a concert program given on the 5th anniversary of 9/11 that recognized the heroes who gave their lives that day. The poem, although never mentioning the occasion explicitly, evokes powerful images of that day. The use of the poem is with the permission of the author.
