Music for the Spheres

Nicholas Ascioti

About this work:
This piece contains the following songs: A Cosmic Rhyme, Waking to Visions, Eternity’s Song, The Breath of the Universe, This Holy Ride, & Life’s Aria. The idea for Music of the Spheres was inspired by Dr. Margaret Scheppach, for whom the piece is dedicated. I asked Richard Hibbert to write a text inspired by the title and the result is a testimony to the heavens, life, and music. The harp and oboe have a variety of “voices” and “effects” that create a mystical sounds cape. Music of the Spheres was recorded by tenor Mark Lawrence, oboist John Lathwell, and harpist Karlinda Caldicott and is available on my debut CD entitled Creation’s Voice.
