About this work:
In Arcana, for solo flute and recorded sound, the ghostly voice of the theremin shadows the melancholy and lyrical solo flute through a dark soundscape. Written in Brooklyn, NY in 2004, Arcana was commissioned by Irzhak and Toby Perlman for their daughter, flutist Ariella Perlman, who will premiered it in April, 2006 at Rice University's Shepherd School of Music. Published by Quetzal Music, available from the composer.
