Elegy

Carol Worthey

About this work:
An Offering of Love and Healing Written in the Aftermath of September 11th Elegy is a musical reenactment of that fateful day, written for healing purposes to bring closure to the event. The composer herself was almost there at the World Trade Center, since her entire family was going to celebrate an Aunt's birthday at Windows on The World on the thirteenth. The hotel where she had a reservation was destroyed. On the frontispiece of the score Carol has written: Love is never really lost, courage is never really in vain and there will always be a new sunrise.
