Trail Days
Aaron Rosenberg
About this work:
“Trail Days” stems from my idealized take on the pioneer days of the American West. I wanted to capture a sense of nostalgia for those times when long trails were thoroughfares for large herds of cattle.
Year composed: 2006
Duration: 00:05:01
Ensemble type: Chamber or Jazz Ensemble, Without Voice:Other Combinations, 6-9 players
Instrumentation: 1 Flute, 1 Clarinet, 2 Bassoon, 2 Trumpet, 2 Trombone
Instrumentation notes: I took my instrumentation from Stravinsky's "Octet for Winds." The treatment is quite different, though.
