American Composers Alliance (www.composers.com); commissioned by the Fromm Foundation for the American Brass Quintet. In two movements, the first (Velvet) alternates chorales (Cantos) with contrapuntal sections (Contrapuncti); the second movement (Spice) is more aggressive and rhythmically vigorous. Premiered by the ABQ in Glens Falls, NY.
