About this work:
American Composers Alliance (www.composers.com); wildy eccentric and sensitive settings of poetry of e. e. cummings with occasional improvisation. First performed by Priscilla Proxmire, clarinetist Stanley Persky, and the composer in an early 1965 version. By omitting the instrumental interlude and one of the settings, a shorter version can be performed as Five Songs with Improvisation (soprano Cheryl Marshall, clarinetist Jean Kopperud, pianist Eliza Garth, Merkin Hall, NYC, 1997).
