About this work:
SERENADE for alto saxophone and strings was premiered in 2001 by the Danish ensemble Den Fynsk Sinfonietta, with saxophonist Carsten Sindvald and conductor Uffe Most. The five movements are: "A Backward Glance,""St, Hans Fire,""A Midsummer's Night Fairy Tale,""Stella's Dance," and "Evensong." SERENADE is recorded on Bridge Records (BRIDGE 9167) featuring saxophonist Chien-Kwan Lin and a string ensemble conducted by Brad Lubman.
