Metalloid

Bill Alves

About this work:
Metalloid is a rock-influenced pieced based on interlocking patterns in a 3/7 lattice of just intonation. The electric guitars and bass are retuned and the players play mostly open strings and harmonics. The title was inspired by my son's study of the periodic table. Metalloid was written for the Harvey Mudd Electronic Music Ensemble.
