About this work:
Written for the music director of St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Bel Air MD, "Serenity" is an effort to capture the essence of the absence of mental stress or anxiety. At 70bpm, the 1st theme begins after an 8-bar introduction, and returns at the end - at a slightly slower tempo. The 2nd theme is played faster and is underlain by 8th note triplets.
