About this work:
Mvt 1 - Symphonette. A piece for chamber orchestra with three main characters: stately, dance-like, and sustained,. presented in that order, and followed by a coda. Mvt2 - Clash of Civilations. Rhymically active, with one differently following section following another, as the title suggests. Mvt3 - Night on 10th Avenue. A lyric, haunting song, with a string melody in the first sectiion, which is almost covered up by electronic effects in a mid section, but which returns at the end.
