About this work:
ASHKINA, which was commissioned by The Foundation for Universal Sacred Music and is written for choir, Chamber Ensemble/Orchestra and Ethnic instruments, was premiered at the Merkin Hall in NY in October, with guest artist the renowned Omar Farouk Tekbilek on Nay flute, Oud and Dumbeck. Repeated performances took place in NY, Boston and Rod Island. The piece combines World Music through different cultures and musical influences, as well as fusion of Hebrew, English and some Turkish.
