About this work: A departure for the composer's work, L'Estampie du Chevalier was written for the Rode Pomp Ensemble in Ghent. The work is difficult because it is so simple -- a near-Appalachian sound using a regular beat over which expressive content is written as expanding and contracting note lengths.
