Hoots & Honks

Dennis Bathory-Kitsz

About this work:
I never learn. I accept commissions from groups that just break up when I write for them (cause and effect?) A string quartet commissioned this, but didn't survive long enough to play it. A very difficult piece, but very rewarding -- do it! The title comes from my friend Felix Thor, who hated modern concert music with a passion, calling it 'hoots and honks'. This was my homage to Felix, now dead, who had truth to tell. Score download (PDF) MP3 demo
