About this work: The Song of Solomon has come recently back into fashion as a text, but in the 1960s the composer first heard a setting by early American William Billings. This time the Hebrew text (with optional English) is used. Mountains of Spices was commissioned by Willie Docto in memory of his father Hermilo Docto for the 2007 We Are All Mozart project.
