About this work: Horizon (Ocean) is a complex piece that turns in on itself, almost fractal-like, as long phrases shorter and twist. Ensembles spiral around each other, soloists finish each other's phrases, the illusion of counterpoint is stifled by an inner stasis. Commissioned anonymously for the 2007 We Are All Mozart project.
