About this work: aïda was a dream piece -- truly. I heard it in my sleep, and awakened enough to write it down and find it complete the next morning. Dark and mistrustful and brooding, this music is rewarding and exhausting for amateurs and students to sing, and was premiered by Il Gruppo Nuke Jitters and since performed several times.
