The Crail Family, 1910

Aaron Rosenberg

About this work:
One caption in Virginia Huidekoper’s photo book The Early Days in Jackson Hole reads, “The Crail family operated the post office in 1910.” The parents pose with their two children on the dirt ground before the post office, all four half smiling. The Crail Family, 1910 depicts the still life of the photographic image itself as well as my impressions of the workaday existence of this frontier family in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
