Dihedral Groups

Michael Wittgraf

About this work:
Written in 1995, Dihedral Groups represents the beauty of mathematical dihedral groups as seen through my eyes. Subjective treatment of mathematics may seem unusual, but I have a passion for the subject that stems precisely from what I perceive as its beauty and elegance. A mathematical dihedral group provides multiple perspectives of a set of objects. As one progresses through these views, the objects dance with respect to the observer. I enjoy comparing this motion to that of a gyroscope or a ride at an amusement park. Dihedral Groups was written as a musical representation of these impressions.
