About this work:
The 3-movement Concerto alla Barocco for Guitar Quartet and Strings was commissioned by the Minneapolis Guitar Quartet who recorded it live with the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra in March of 2004. This lyrical middle movement is a chaconne based on the Chaconne in F major for solo lute by Johann Losy (1651-1721). Later on in the piece John Lennon's infectious and significant melody Give Peace a Chance has been incorporated.
