Recorded by Musical Heritage Society and released in July, 1980, with the Garden State Chamber Orchestra, Frederick Storfer conducting. Karl Kraber, flute; Martin Smith, horn; Velma Richter, piano. "The album is one that few listeners would fail to enjoy. For that matter, Townsend's annotation is like his music: witty, unpretentious, and candid." (Fanfare Jan-Feb 1981) The album was released as a CD by Musical Heritage Society in 1990. This recording of the orchestral version of the triple concerto was broadcast on 4/7/10 on "Classical Discoveries with Marvin Rosen," WPRB, 103.3FM, Princeton, NJ. The work has not had a premiere live performance in this orchestral version. The string quartet version premiered in the Facebook Friends Concert on April 20, 2010, at Saint Peter's Church in Manhattan, with soloists Albert Pae, flute, Kelly Csillam, horn, and David Oei, piano, with the Townsend String Quartet led by Eriko Sato,.
