About this work:
Book and libretto by Oscar Brand. A revised version with a newly composed finale was commissioned by Francisco Nunez and the Young People's Chorus of the City of New York and world premiered in 2000 at Manhattan's 92nd Street Y, artistic direction and conducting by Francisco Nunez, stage direction by Oscar Brand. (No review. DVD available.) Other children's groups have performed the work on Long Island (original version) and in the Bronx, NY, most recently on May 19, 2006, at the Casita Maria Settlement House in the Bronx (revised version), under the auspices of the Young People's Chorus of the City of New York, Francisco Nunez, Musical and Artistic Director. (Can also be performed with accompanying chamber orchestra instead of solo piano.)
