About this work:
Book and libretto by Oscar Brand. Unperformed in this version (with chamber orchestra accompanying). Voice parts intended for elementary or middle school children. Orchestra accompaniment is easily performed by high school students or advanced middle school students. This operetta is light, fun, tuneful, and easy. There is a unison chorus and five principal characters (Captain, Rat, Monkey, Parrot, Cat), four of whom have one or more solo songs. (In a newly revised third version, a solo song for the Rat has been added.)
