About this work:
Movement 1 - Soundscape 1. A first section combines a sustained string background with melodies, against which are heard aggressive percussive slow beats. Asection departs by constrast from this. Later a final section returns too a modified version of the first. Movement 2 - Folk Theme and Agitato. A texture descibed by the titlw is employed thruout, and leads to a loud ending. Movement 2 = Soundscape 2. An orchestral slow moving theme is developed to mid- climax by addition of voices and percussion, then gradually simmers doen to a quiet ending.
