About this work:
Movement 1 - Allegro. A robust movement with main and subordinate themes ending loudly, establishing the main charaters and plot of the film. Movement 2 - Andante. A slow melody and accompaniment texture thruout is used for the tender and sentimental parts of the film. Movement 3 - Dance. A spritely scherzo and later jazz idiom is used for the action parts of the film. Movement 4 - Lament. The film does not end happily. This slow movemeent describes the regrets.
