About this work:
Written for Martha Mooke for her 5-string electric viola with the high e-string, Voila! is highly rhythmical and full of verve, a style I chose to compliment Martha's own playing style. The piece is made up of several contrasting episodes which are restated throughout, culminating in a conclusion containing fragments of those episodes. Add to that some echo and delay effects for extra emphasis and...Voila! you have a recipe for a viola fantasy.
