Letter

About this work:
Letter--song text
How many times I have begun a letter
only to stop before the second word
has dried. In the silence, your not being here
is not being at all, though when I speak
(as when I play music) I think completely of you.
I imagine you listening. What you see, I believe,
is the essence of loveliness. If we meet,
will you write? I have not had a letter for days.
