About this work:
BOXIANA is a multi-disciplinary work which incorporates music, theater, dance and staged boxing. It is scored for two sopranos, female chorus, percussion, dancers and actors. The creation was supported by grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, Seattle Arts Commission and New Langton Arts. Choreography and book by Georgia Ragsdale. Lyrics from the Tao Te Ching, and other sources. Music by Karen P. Thomas.
Produced for the Goodwill Arts Festival in conjunction with the International Goodwill Games in 1990.
