“Abhorrence of the Void” or horror vacui (Latin) is a term passed down from Medieval Europe referring to any manner of pneumatic or hydraulic mechanism. It illustrates nature's tendency to be “replused by absence,” causing natural phenomenae to ?ll a vacuum at all costs.
