About this work:
Set in Serbian this bombastic and exciting work draws its form and shape from iconic works such as Stravinsky's Les Noces and Carl Orff's Carmina Burana. It tells the story of a magical ritual practiced in Serbia involving bonfires, dancing and singing to ward off witches. Very well suited for contemporary choreography. Commissioned by Robert Page and premiered in April 2008 conducted by the composer.
