About this work:
Meditation, a quiet and reflective piece for flute quartet, is dedicated to Samuel Coles. This quartet can be played separately or as part of a suite of C.S. Chaconne, Meditation and Tango. Meditation is built around a Spanish jazz chord progression written in the style of a Bach chorale and is interspersed by interludes inspired by the irregular meters found in some Bulgarian folk music.
