About this work:
Movement 1 - Sonata Allegro. Opens with loud, fast material then offers contrasting quieter second theme. Both sections blend together in a recap and a sudden climactic end. Movement 2 - Musette. Mainly a slow movement, but with sudden outbursts here and there of heavy meterial. Ends with opening quiet section. Movement 3 - Dance with choral ending. After fast opening dance, choral material sneaks in, then becomes more sustained and climactic. Finally the dance and choral material blend and wind down to a quiet ending.
