Ripples

Kevin McCarter

About this work:
Ripples opens with a lively stream of sound in the strings. The piano adds a bright spray of notes when it comes in. The music broadens into gently flowing lines that lead eventually to a calm pool of sustained harmonies. At the far side of the pool, tones slide into a fresh current and ripple downstream until they glide out of sight.
