Program Note
In this piece I explored ostinato figures and the juxtaposition of two ways to collaborate: using music of melody and accompaniment and passages where the two players share a single line. Harmonies for much of the piece were derived from the quartal/quintal pitch collection of the opening melody, and they drive the groove despite myriad meter changes.
