Chamber Concerto No. 2 for Trombone and Strings (or String Quartet)

Douglas Townsend

About this work:
The piano reduction of my trombone concerto was performed in recital in Seoul, South Korea, on August 28, 2010, by Lee Jeong Seok, trombone, and Sonyounggyeong, piano, at the Sejong Chamber Hall in the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts. As far as I am aware, this was a premiere in South Korea of any version of my trombone concerto. (In December of 2006 the work was performed with euphonium and string quartet in Kuala Lumpur by the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra Chamber Players. The string orchestra version premiered in Cooper Union, NYC, with Davis Shuman on trombone. See the details under the versions for string orchestra or string quartet.) The work in all versions is published by Theodore Presser.
