Meditation on Water
Alvez Barkoskie IV
About this work:
“Meditation on Water” was written my freshman year at Stetson University and it was my first non-liturgical and solely instrumental piece of music to be performed in a recital. The work uses minimal compositional elements to achieve a meditative state. The contours of the motives evoke several states of water: droplets of rain, the swell of waves, and the pull and push of an undulating undercurrent as a storm.
