About this work:
This piece was commissioned by Foundry United Methodist Church and was to be part of a program including Masses bu Hans Leo Hassler and Ludwig Beethoven. Inspired by the Mass to Saint Anthony by Lou Harrison, I decided I would write the piece in unison, using timbral effect and solos for contrasts. The original scoring is for string orchestra, trumpet soloist and keyboards. There have been 2 revisions: chorus, organ, trumpet and percussion and chorus and chamber orchestra.
