About this work:

This work is in two movements: I. Fanfare, and II. Invention. It was composed for Harvey Burgett to premiere on the organ at the Bascilica di San Simpliciano in Milan, Italy. The Basilica organ is a 1991 Ahrend replica of a Bach period instrument. The piece is composed to be performable on a wide range of instruments, including single manual organs with limited range, and even some instruments that utilize early tuning systems other than the more modern well-tempered tuning.
