Gina's Waltz
Roger M. Aldridge
About this work:
Gina's Waltz was composed in 1993 for Genevieve Eichman, a Baltimore-based classical flutist who participated in a benefit concert for the Chesapeake Bay Foundation I organized that year. Gina liked contemporary music with shifting time meters and more complex harmonic structures. This waltz, written to feature the lower range of the flute, has a joyful spirit and shifting time to play around with a jazz waltz feeling.
