Legend # 1 for Symphonic Winds % Percussion

Barton McLean

About this work:

Legend # 1 is the second among four works for symphonic winds and percussion (Rondo for Band being the first).  It is a bit more lyrical than the Rondo, and is still in a conservative traditional vein influenced by Sibelius.  Although no score is available, there are a number of scores of Legend # 1 in libraries throughout the USA, some with parts as well.  Again, this recording was made under primitive conditions and does not reflect the impact the music has.

it was premiered by the Crane Wind Ensemble under John Shorge c. 1964 or 1965.
